The strength of the Old Believers' convictions has made these hardy people resistant to influences from other cultures and their colorful clothing and needlework maintain the spirit and flavor of Old Russia. Folkwear offers the complete woman's ensemble: Jumper or Sundress, Blouse and Apron. The loose, full serafan is gathered into a band that fits snugly around the body just above the bust. Back gathers are gracefully fitted to the body with a variety of embellishment techniques, and may be made with traditional fullness or in the narrower verson.
